Zion-Benton East has worked hard to bring college and career readiness programs to our students. With these programs, graduates will be prepared for success in their individual career and college aspirations after high school.
College of Lake County
Zion-Benton East is excited to partner with the College of Lake County to offer dual credit courses to our students. These are courses taken primarily at ZBE that earn both high school and college credits. Incoming students will be able to work toward completing the General Education Core Curriculum (GECC) package. This package gives students a jumpstart on their future and ensures a successful transfer of higher education coursework within Illinois. Dual credit courses also offer amazing savings! A student completing the full GECC package of 41 credit hours would save a minimum of $6000! Click here to learn more!
Lake County tech campus
The Tech Campus is an extension of many area high schools for high school students to attend classes in a specific career training program. The Tech Campus is regarded as one of the best career and technical education training facilities in the Midwest with a highly qualified staff dedicated to excellence in career and technical education. The Tech Campus experience provides an educational environment that supports and encourages individual learning styles, develops occupational skills and professionalism, promotes academic growth, and assists students in discovering their potential. In addition to high school credit, the Tech Campus partnered with the College of Lake County allows students the opportunity to earn college credit at no cost. Programs include:

Certiport certifications
Skills are the global currency of the 21st century! In a world where competition for jobs, pay increases, and academic success continues to increase, certifications offer hope because they are a credible, third-party assessment of one’s skill and knowledge for a given subject. New Tech will begin offering two courses where students can earn Certiport certifications. These courses will offer certifications in Microsoft Office, Adobe, IC3 Digital Literacy and more!
